Description
A spectacular event began on April 23, 2015 that brought thousands of additional visitors to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park to view a visible lava lake in Halemaumau crater. The lava lake went out of sight again on May 12, 2015. This image shows the return to what had been the usual beautiful sight every evening since March 19, 2008. This image was taken on June 8, 2015 to show the return of the glow in the crater.
